Long Live King Danel!

Danel, King of the Saks, has officially succeeded his father, Danewyr on the throne of Saklan.

Amid much funfare, the young king received the crown from the steward and pronounced a great feast in his own honor. He also announced the forgiveness of all noble debts to the crown, provided each noble in turn forgave those debts owed them by the small people of their provinces. Notwithstanding the lasting debts of fealty and serfdom.

In a second announcement, he promised to re-examine the policy of holding the various colleges tax free. "Is it right that the poor should suffer, while learned men of great power sit tax free in their high towers? I do not know. This is the question we shall have to ponder."

None of the Prima of the Great Colleges could be reached for comment.
